Karen Kingsbury used to be one of my favorite authors. This series was one of her last really well strong ones. I hate how she has changed as an author and is unwilling to listen to her fans. BUT if you want a good Karen Kingsbury book read everything that was written BEFORE the Above the Line and Bailey Flanigan Series. Anything with the Baxters are amazing.

This is the first book of a series of this family. I enjoyed the story however, I personally did not like it as much as Karen's stand alone books. This is just a personal opinion. The book kept my interest and was a Christian story.

Prayer is something that I was reminded of in Sunrise. I have used the story lines and lessons by this prayerful family in my own life. God put these books in my way for a reason and I have been giving more to prayer and Him in my daily life. The most important lesson from all of Karens books have deeply moved me to pray in all areas always. God is so good and I am so grateful He loves me like He does.

Karen Kingsbury really knows how to pull you right into the story. You feel like the characters are friends you really know and can't wait to find out what is going to happen next.

If you read the Mitford series and know how involved you became in the lives of Father Tim et al, you will appreciate getting to know the Baxter's. Can't wait to read "Summer".

I hate knowing this series is going to end in just a couple more books. Keep up the good writing and giving us life lessons, Karen.
