I bought this book for my son who has read all of The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and is a big fan. It actually gave him the love of reading. As a parent, I find there aren't as many books to read for boys as they are for girls. So finding this series has proven to be a great find. I can remember buying the first book when my son was in the 4th grade and he's kept up with them ever since. He's in the 6th grade now. This book came out right around the time of the movie release in the theaters. We saw the movie the day came out and it held true to the series of books. It's definitely entertaining, funny and had plenty of life lessons to learn for kids of all ages. Bravo to Jeff Kinney!

The "Wimpy Kid Movie Diary" is an excellent book that should be a part of every Diary of a Wimpy Kid series collection. It describes, in detail, how the movie was made and the complexities of making a movie from this type of cartoon stick figures style of book. The book details the in's & out's of the movie making process, difficulties, on-set experiences, casting, all the behind the scenes stories, and a lot more.

Between Jeff Kinney's narrative and the great pictures, you really get a sense of what went into making the movie and how complex the process was. It makes both the book and the movie become more alive and interesting. Considering the incredible success of the movie, this is a great book for teaching in schools for drama, education or just general information. An very enjoyable read!

Had this book on my classroom shelf for two years when it walked away. It was a favorite of my students and was requested again. I purchased it, and it has been passed from student to student since I received it in the mail. The students love it and appreciate a little different take on the series.

This series is great. My seven year old loves them and reads them to me (I actually like the stories as well.) This particular book talks about the movie, giving lots of information about how the movie was made as well as about the movie itself. I have had some concerns about some of the subject matter (mischievous activities of a junior high student) not being age appropriate, but the fact that the books get her to read so much outweighs those concerns. Keep in mind that this book is slightly different than the other books as it is dedicated to talking about aspects of the movie, but it is still very enjoyable.

I bought this book to replace the one someone stole from my granddaughter. Yes, he stole it last school year and returned it this school year with a page torn out and other pages marked on. She was so disappointed and even though she had been without the book for a year she still wanted it. That is why I purchased this one. She loves the Wimpy Kid series and for her birthday wants the set of Vols. 1-4 which I promised to get for her. I don't really know what the attraction is but she can't seem to get enough of the books and movies.
