This is one of the few books in the amazing "Stories Jesus Told" by Nick Butterworth

This is one of the few books in the amazing "Stories Jesus Told" by Nick Butterworth. I love this set of books, they are easy to read (suitable for very young toddlers), stick to the original Bible story, with really lovely (and sometimes funny) illustrations. It is difficult to find bible stories that are interesting enough for kids, not too preachy, not too boring, and not overflow with unnecessary additional details. The series by Nick Butterworth is just nice.

This book is one that will be cherished and passed down from child to grandchild. The parable is taken right from the bible and is made simple enough for a two or three year old to understand God's love. The illustrations are also very appealing to young children.

Uses a modern setting to retell the parable in which Jesus expresses God's concern for those who stray away from Him.

This book was given to my sons, years ago... We all loved it... Finally it got passed on to other children...Now that I have my first grandchild, I really wanted this book to read to him... So I purchased it used on Amazon... It's a sweet way to show our relationship with the Good Shepherd...

The words are simple enough for my six year old to read by herself. I recommend getting all the books in this series. They make a wonderful gift set for a child.
