Am already planning on 2 or 3 or the patterns. Interesting use of pattern and yarn.

I have only knitted scarves and lots of them. I wanted to try something else. So, I saw this book in a store and decided to get it at Amazon about a week later. I find that it really is easy to just make rectangles and piece them together and have a sweater! Even I can do that! And beware you will need to know some stitches besides the garder. It's a whole new way of looking at knitting.

I never had a chance to look inside before buying. I wish I had, because then I would never have bought this useless book. I give it 2 stars because one does a get a few ideas of how to use fine yarns in simple shapes for effect. But most of what is supposed to pass for fashion is just too shapeless or gaudy to imagine wearing. I had no idea that it was really just a promotion for Trendsetter yarns.

I'm pretty adventurous fashionwise, and I'm open to new ideas, but there was almost nothing in this book I wanted to knit. The cover sweater, which looks so intriguing, turns out to be shaped by the model, hugging the sweater to her body in a static pose. Once I saw how it was knit, I realized it would look shapeless and hang oddly on most people when they moved or stood normally. The same applies to the Lollipop sweater.

I liked the Diva sweater, but using such expensive yarn in an experimental geometric shape seems risky. Again, one had the feeling the model was holding the sweater to her body to lend it some shape. I don't think it would hang like that on it's own.

I've nothing against using expensive yarns to make glorious creative sweaters, scarves and shawls. However, I agree with others who point out that most of the projects are just one or two piece rectangluar or triangular scarfs or wraps, so one feels cheated for buying a hardcover book to get the patterns. Since the yarns "make" the sweaters, substituting other yarns will result in very different results.

Save your money.

It sounded like a good idea, but 95% of this book is hideous. I don't get the point of buying silk ribbon to cut it up and knot it all over a sweater. Especially when said sweater is already made of some over the top fluffy dangly yarn.

I'm sorry I wasted my cash. There's nothing in there that inspires me. how sad is that?
This is the worst knitting book I have bought to date. Most of the patterns are truly horrible looking. If you like to stick out like a sore thumb, or you like to have people laughing at you behind your back, then you may like these patterns.
