I first received this little book as a gift. The Wild Life of Cats is a standout in the Rubes series.

Leigh Rubin is a comic genius and that comes across loud and clear in this book!! This is a must read if you love . Rubin has really captured the subtle personality quirks of cats. He's really gotten into the mindset of how a cat would think

Hilarious feline antics!!! Published by Thriftbooks. He's really gotten into the mindset of how a cat would think. Lots of clever wordplay and new takes on classic cat stereotypes. really unusual for a cartoon collection. My family loved it! We are giving it to all of our many cat loving friends this Christmas.

I first received this little book as a gift. I immediately ordered 10 copies, knowing that the feline fanciers in my life would find it PAWsome! If you're not a devotee of cats but still enjoy wry humor, this comic collection of kitty antics is worth the investment. The Wild Life of Cats is a standout in the Rubes series. Don't let the "one-star" comments dissuade you. This particular cartoon selection is absolutely meow-velous!

I have many, many cartoon books and read them over and over. Rubes is so funny and makes a nice addition to my collection. I started reading Rubes online and just had to start collecting the books.

I'm glad I purchased this book. Very funny! An entertaining read for anyone who is owned by a cat, or would like to be. Cats are fascinating creatures and this little book gives us just another perspective of what we just know cats are really like.

Same goes for this one it's a gift.

As I said when reviewing the Rubes 2013 calendar, I'm not a review writer, so I'm mostly repeating what I said there here.

We have six cats, so I'm obviously predisposed to cartoons with cats. I'm stunned that anybody who appreciates cats would ever give this anything less than five stars. It makes me wonder whether they have cats or like cats, or if they just don't get the cat humor. Because this book is great. I was tempted to dock a star on the review for it not being LONG ENOUGH! Leigh, if you have more cat toons, please publish another cat collection!

Okay, as I said in reviewing the calendar: I work for a newspaper that doesn't carry Rubes, and I would do ANYTHING to have it. It's one of the few things that I always have up in a browser tab so I can read it every single day. The only way this gets better is with more Rubes. I got that with this calendar (thanks to my great wife!), so now I have twice the Rubes every day.

Leigh Rubin is a genius. His work is brilliant. I compare it to The Far Side, but it is its own strip. At times it certainly invokes Gary Larson's twisted genius, but Leigh is his own man. The strip makes me at the very least grin, often laugh, and occasionally roar out loud.

If you've never read Rubes, get ANYTHING. The calendar is great, and if you're a cat lover you'd do far worse than to start with this book.

I got this book after seeing a "preview" page with 3 of the cartoons featured and they looked hilarious. I thought it would make a great gift for my mom, who has 2 quirky cats. Boy am I ever disappointed. I think they saved the best 3 for the preview page, because the rest of book is not even mildly amusing. The cartoons are not in bad taste or crude humor, they're just sort of corny and some don't even make sense. The "jokes" remind me of an 8th grade art project my brother did where they had to draw their own humorous cartoons. I flipped through all 92 (very thin) pages and I don't think I even cracked a smile. It was so corny in places I was honestly embarassed. I'd send it back, but it's not worth the shipping, so please do your part and save your money.

I found "The Wild Life of Cats" to be hilarious and I highly recommend it. You don't have to be a cat lover to enjoy this all color cartoon book. But if you are a cat lover (like me!) this marvelous collection will make you laugh page after page. Rubes knows how to capture humorous insights of animals like no other cartoonist. Any one in his series of Wild Life books (Cows, Dogs, Farm Animals, and Pets) would make an excellent present for family and friends... if they enjoy a good laugh!
If you are a cat lover, this is hysterical and I've given it to many people for Christmas.
