This book covers the first two seasons and the first two episodes of season three. It has a very brief bio for some of the main characters and some chapters on 'Behind the Scenes'. I was mainly interested in the episode guides, mainly the mythology episodes, but the 'Behind the Story' parts for each episode are quite interesting. This is the first of six volumes in The Official Guide to The X-Files, covering seasons 1 and 2. The book contains a recap of each episode, followed by background information on the episode, which is often where it gets very inter This book, released during the third season, was the essential reference for fans early on.

Writing The X-Files: Interviews with Chris Carter, Frank Spotnitz, Vince Gilligan, John Shiban, and Howard Gordon by Jason Davis (Paperback, 2016).

This is definitely a book for the X-Files fan! It has all of season 1 and 2 with a detailed synopsis for each episodeĀ . It is a very clear and excellent book for everybody to read. I particularly enjoy the episode guide part in this book. including important dialogue quotes. It has great photographs also to accompany the stories. it's also good as reference when something happens in later episodes that you didn't understand, to go back and find out who, why and what. It also has all of the awards the show had won during those seasons.

As a huge X-Files fan, I bought this book to learn more about the inside of the show.
This book only tells you about the first and second seasons, which is fine by me.
I love that every episode is explained in a couple of pages with cast comments, where the episode takes place, hidden gems about filming each episode, and extra details they didn't tell you about in the episode. There is a lot of material but you can easily get through it in a few days if you have time.
I mainly love telling others what I read about that episode in this book. It makes me feel like I am smarter than everyone else on the planet.

As an "X-Files" fan, I always enjoy reading articles and books that expand my understanding or appreciation for the series, and this book doesn't disappoint. Brian Lowry brings clear writing and an obvious respect for the show to this handy companion to the series. Covering only the first three seasons in volume 1, the author first introduces us to the development stage of the show, and then provides synopses of each episode. Along the way he also gives profiles of the major characters. If you're looking for in-depth critical analyses regarding the science and factual basis of the show, this is probably not the right place. But if you enjoy remembering what made you a fan in the first place, this will bring much enjoyment.

I gave my first book of this away & lived to regret it so I bought it again. I love it. A must-have for any X-Files fan!

I bought it curious about the content.
Actually, I found some kind of things I didn't know about the show.
I think for a real fan, this book is just a recopilation of all the knowledge they have.
However, this book is a good way to keep with you information about an interesting and famous tv show.
I loved it!

When you go back and check out books like these, make certain the material is what you are looking for. Personally, I picked this up some time ago and, for what it is supposed to cover, it really made an impact. That said, it is only a synopsis for the first two seasons of the X-Files and there are some really big books that cover a lot of ground when it comes to the show. The thing is that the price goes up on things like that, too, and you really might just want a framework of how things began and how things were playing out.

According to Chris Carter, there is a theme that traverses three seasons of the X-Files, and that theme becomes really transparent here. You notice a lot of what he is aiming for - and wil later call "Abduction" in the X-File Mythos discs - and that can really use a companion like this. Those are not bad for a fan of the series to pick up, either, and going back and looking at those always looks good here. If you want to add to that then look up the book by Simon, who talks about the science behind the series. That means you gleam a lot of information from a little bit of reading, and you see the reality and the notion thats et everything up.

Basically, this is one of those things that lurks in fandom. If you are just wathcing and want to know about all the seasons, you might not want this. I think it is amazingly done but there are some equally amazing sets, and some come in around the 30 to 40 range. Still, this gets a nice 5/5 for what it is, sharing the joy of two seasons beautifully.
Even the most avid fan needs a road map to the X-Files (I know I do!). I have been a fan since the very first episode and I own all the episode guides, all seasons on video tape, all seasons on DVD and various other books and magazines....so, it is safe to say that I like the X-Files. This is definitely a book for the X-Files fan! It has all of season 1 and 2 with a detailed synopsis for each episode...including important dialogue quotes. It has great photographs also to accompany the stories. You could easily understand what's going on just from reading this book....it's also good as reference when something happens in later episodes that you didn't understand, to go back and find out who, why and what.
It also has all of the awards the show had won during those seasons. Well worth the money and makes a good collectible item!
