This book, I know that everything went okay after Sarah's death but this is the first book of Luanne Rice that I've been reading, where one of the main characters died. Such a tragedy, very heartbreaking.

At work at her bedding shop (Cloud Nine), Sarah feels fully recovered from her bout with cancer and ready to face reconciliation with her distant father and absent son. Hiring a charter pilot to fly her home for Thanksgiving, Sarah will face more challenges than she can imagine. Read with great feeling by Sandra Burr, this romance is sentimental, but it mostly works-until the unbelievable ending, perhaps made more so by abridgment. Although the narration cannot be faulted, this has the feel of a movie of the week cut to half its original length.

Sarah Talbot never thought she'd live to see another birthday. But through indomitable will and expert medical care, she has beaten the cancer and reopened her bedding boutique, Cloud Nine. In celebration, Sarah's friends give her a special present: a ride over her upstate New York town in a chartered plane. It is on this flight that Sarah meets Will Burke, a former Navy pilot, whose outward confidence hides the wounds he has yet to heal.

A bond is forged between them. Now Sarah, determined to complete her recovery, decides to visit the isolated Maine island where she grew up—and where the two most important people in her life, her father and her son, are waiting. Will joins her quest. But the journey will be a heart-wrenching test of her courage, and becoming whole will require the one thing Sarah can least afford: time.

Wow. I have read so many books and said this is the one I love most......well ......this is the one I love the most. Ever,
Just about cried on the first page and I know I cried on the last. Finished this book in three days, could have been less but needed to sleep and do other things. Enjoy! Relax! Cry! It does a person good! Honest!

Even though I could predict the ending half way through the book, the story was so beautifully composed that I wasn't disappointed that I was correct. This is a very tender story of love that will pull at your "heart strings."

I felt many different emotions reading this book. I generally don't cry reading a book. I've enjoyed all of Rice's books I've read. Even though there's sadness in this book there are lessons to learn. I'd recommend this book to any woman.

I love so many books by Luanne Rice. This one again, pulls at my heart and reminds me to believe in so many good things in life, love, family and people who care about others. I enjoy that it was a quick read and invigorates my faith in wholesome loving people.

Very sappy with everyone crying all the time. Also predictable. Enjoyed the Maine descriptions since I had been to the beautiful state several times and especially admire the hardly people who call it home.

A beautifully woven story with the gift of honest emotions - love, frustration, disappointment, deep appreciation & awareness of the emotional gifts we receive from others that last a lifetime.
This book kept my attention from beginning to end . It's a story of losing and finding and losing again . Well-written as I always expect of Luann Rice. PS.. It Is a Tearjerker.
