It is unfair to say anything about this book without admitting I am part of it, one of the honored invited "young" authors. But I am adding this review as the rest of the book was a great experience for me as a reader. It was a discovery, of first a few poets work (such as Sabrina Orah Mark) who I was not yet familiar with, but, more exciting, of the prose exchanges between authors I had read.

To see how two people think about and share reflections on poetry, the word, the role of the writer, the international scene of reading/writing and even political, formal and other issues which infuse writers' work in varied ways kept me glued to these pages. I think this is a brilliant collection, that Mengert and Wilkinson have done an amazing job. Even their own dual-voiced introduction sets the tone: in this epoch of distance, cubical housing, individualism, the connections we have and can have (through so many technological means) make writing a new kind of dialogue, one which needed to be acknowledge with such a collection. Thanks for getting this out into the world!!!

If you are interested in poetry and/or the process of writing poetry,
this is the book to read. In the introduction, the editors discuss
poetics and some of the conversations between poets and their mentors.
Dr. Wilkinson's description of poetry brings the process to life and
is worth the price of admission! A wonderful poet himself (winner of
the Iowa Poetry Prize) and a professor of poetry, Joshua Marie
Wilkinson has also edited "Poets on Teaching - a Sourcebook" - another
inspiring presentation on language and creativity. />Poets on Teaching: A Sourcebook.
