by Liam Hudson

Hudson says he was working on his book Frames of Mind when the ideas behind The Cult of the Fact came to him as a sort of "doppelganger" book that he wished he was writing instead, and eventually he wrote both books. His enthusiasm notwithstanding, The Cult of the Fact is confusing. The memoir part is fine; he tells self-deprecating stories of how he felt that he was a bit of a fraud in This book is disorganized and rambling to a degree that makes it difficult to tell what the thesis is.

A delightfully amusing biography of Professor Hudson's academic life from his scholarship awarded in highly unusual circumstances, through his progress at Oxford and Cambridge, and finally landing a career as a psychologist. ISBN13:9780224006798. Release Date:January 1972.
