Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Also, you (like me) are most probably more familiar with the Charles Perault version of Cinderella, with the fairy Godmother and all that. If so, be prepared for a change.
Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Format: Global Grey free PDF, epub, Kindle ebook Pages (PDF): 6 Publication Date: 1884. These books can take me from 2 to 10 hours to create. There is no fairy Godmother in this one; instead, the thing that grants Cindy's wishes in this version, is a tree.

When Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published their "Children's and Household Tales" in 1812, followed by a second volume in 1815, they had no idea that such stories as "Rapunzel," "Hansel and Gretel," and "Cinderella" would become the most celebrated in the world.
The two Grimm brothers Jakob and Wilhelm were genuine philologists and folklorists during the early decades of the nineteenth century, and both received professorships in Berlin in 1841. They set the bar high for any who followed, gathering and then re-telling (mostly) authentic tales obtained from their peasant informants and associates.

Grimms’ Fairy Tales have entertained children and adults for the past two centuries, and have become part of our common heritage. These stories about Tom Thumb, Cinderella, Rumpelstiltskin and the Frog Prince stimulate the imagination and the heart and linger at the back of our minds for a lifetime. They are funny, disturbing, wise and compassionate; they speak of joy and terror, happiness and revenge, love and violence. They remind us of how it felt the first time an adult voice read them to us as we fell asleep and dreamed magical dreams.
The Brothers Grimm were Jacob (1785-1863) and Wilhelm (1786-1859). Their first collection of folk tales was published in 1812.
