I thought that Reckless Road was very informative as to how the band took over the Sunset Strip music scene, giving a look at their lives and just how many people are still around to tell stories about it. Either that or Appetite for Destruction kind of just speaks for itself. Still, a great book that lets you appreciate the first fan of Guns N' Roses' work, as well as Marc's own work.

I remember when Guns hit the scene and everything changed. I was looking for a type of music that matched my emotions and lifestyle. My groups of people rode motorcycles, partied 24 hours a day, and loved chaos. Guns was perfect music for that time in our lives. We hated glam rock. We loved bands like AC/DC and after we saw Guns open for Aerosmith in 1988 we adopted the band as our music for our time give young and reckless. Some of us are still alive and free and still love the band. I had some of the craziest times of my life with songs like Nighttrain in the background. It was the last of the good old rock n roll party til you die fun to be had in the United States. I am very fortunate to have lived during a time when a person could be reckless and free. Guns and Roses were a perfect band for a reckless time.

I thought that Reckless Road was very informative as to how the band took over the Sunset Strip music scene, giving a look at their lives and just how many people are still around to tell stories about it. To be honest, it could be about the making of Appetite from a raw, gritty, energetic point, since the book bears many quality photos covering nearly all of their live shows in L.A. Strippers, old friends, manager, and A&R scouts are there to share a lot about GNR and their wild antics. As for the album, well, any Guns N' Roses fan by now knows the songs and the stories behind those songs by heart. (This being 2014, that is.) Either that or Appetite for Destruction kind of just speaks for itself. Still, a great book that lets you appreciate the first fan of Guns N' Roses' work, as well as Marc's own work. I'm proud to have this book on my shelf. There just aren't bands like this anymore.

It was a nice photography themed book of GNR's debut album and Steven Adler's only claim to fame, fun little book to look through when you have spare time. The book doesnt have you sitting down all day either. came in new condition and on time.

Marc has just done a great job. Loved the way it was put together with the setlists, comments, backstory on the making of the greatest rock album of all time, Appetite For Destruction. I just loved seeing all his personal scrapbook items: ticket stubs, posters, flyers, etc. Of course, you buy it for the photos! They are amazing as Marc was front and center, backstage, offstage and he takes awesome photos yet humbly calls himself an amateur photographer. The grammar and spelling might not be perfect, but the photos are. I've read all the member's books and this is great to put the photos with the detailed stories they tell about each particular gig-the little notes of what went on and dialogue onstage that Marc actually recorded (part of the enhanced features). Loved the sexy info and photos. Like that Michelle Young contributed, how cool, "My Michelle" is one of my favorites. I was a little worried that since Marc was Slash's best friend, there might not be enough Axl in the book. Don't worry, there is plenty of Axl in some of his best outfits from the club days. Buy it already!

The video and primary source documents alone were enough to love this ebook. It was interesting to get an inside peek at what was going on in the making and launch of their first album. I didn't much like that the text was more or less a transcript of what was said in the video, but there was additional information included as well. All in all, I very much enjoyed the enhance ebook. It was the first time that I'd purchased an ebook with video. It's like a time capsule. Great idea. Great concept.

I have read a number of rock & roll biographies recently. I seem to be going through the GNR stage at the moment. This book has a LOT of pictures. Great pictures mind you but a lot. It was hard to gauge from previous reviews how many there were. Maybe 1/2? I love to read so missed a full book and wanted to at least warn someone who was on the fence. It still is a very good book and the pictures were gone. If you don't mind a lot of pictures it was a good book and worth 5 stars.

Was really disappointed at the lack of actual reading material. I should have read the reviews more carefully. If you want to see allot of great photo's it's worth it. If you want a good book to settle down with for a long weekend this will only last you maybe a day.
This book certainly was more than I expected. Great collection of old Guns'N'Roses pictures, plenty of information regarding the recording of my favorite rock album of all time, interviews and opinions from "key factor" persons in that process. It helps you understand the state of mind and the situations that defined that raw power and the aggressiveness of the album.Although Use Your Illusion albums are great pieces of music they lack that element of "street gang style" of the AFD album! And the state of the band in each period is explanatory. The only negative is the fact that the internet site that should give you access to all the relative concert clips is no longer active and all the dialogues from each concert make no sense alone!
