Thoroughly illustrated, this is an invaluable reference to Volkswagen’s collectible and iconic cars. The history of VW automobiles is just as colorful as the hues they were manufactured in, and this book illustrates the full story. German automakers originally sought to supply their countrymen with an automobile that was easy to mass.

This mini-melodramatic masterpiece is sure to be a doorway for your child to love all the classics. Shakespeare is difficult enough in class or watching on stage, let alone trying to teach the stories to children, but as the author's mantra states in the book, "there is no better way to learn than to have fun!" Kids who have read this have also eventually purchased Shakespeare's entire works and have completed 'hero' reports on Shakespeare at school. Guaranteed to have you coming back for more!

Here it is. The best way to introduce Shakespeare to kids. If you are a teacher, an after school programs director or a parent with a lot of time on your hands, you owe it to your students to buy this book. I promise, you will not be sorry. Brendon has come up with an innovated and truly engaging way for students to have fun while learning the basics of Shakespeare. This book series is a must if we are going to keep the arts alive. Educators are always complaining that it is hard to get kids interested in the classics.

Brandon has found away to engage kids of all ages. Within the pages of these books (there are 11 so far) you will find the key to getting kids excited about Shakespeare. Each book contains three variations on the play. The three plays are broken down by age appropriate learning; 6-7 8-14 & 14-20. The plays run under 30 minutes, designed to introduce the basic plot. As the play’s age level progress, so do the plot details. Brendon has included many of Shakespeare’s more famous lines, while keeping the script simple and direct. I cannot image a more engaging and entertaining way to introduce Shakespeare to kids.

PHENOMENAL! Our homeschool co-op is using this to do a play for our 5th and 6th grade history class, where we are studying the Renaissance. I just read through the sample of Hamlet from this book and they were rolling, totally engaged, and all left the room saying, "PLEEEASSE! Mrs. Hogan, please can we do this??" Based on the sample we read, they all want to be Polonius- as they think it would be such fun to die and be dragged off stage. I am thrilled as a teacher to see such enthusiasm for Shakespeare! I know when I tell them the book has arrived that they will demand we start right away, even though I had planned starting to work on the play a few weeks from now. Thank you Mr. Kelso for inspiring an interest in Shakespeare for children, and for making it understandable. I believe this will have a lifelong impact on these kids. When they see an announcement for Shakespeare in the Park in their local town, they will be eager to attend and not afraid, due to lack of understanding.

As a teacher, I have been looking for a kid/teen "easy" version of Hamlet to read in my class. This play book is perfect! It has 3 different plays....let me clarify. Depending on how many students you want to participate, there is a shorter or lengthier play. Of course, with a class of 30, I have all of my students take a specific role. The others are in charge of setting the scene and props. The language used in this play is everyday language, and I love the sound of teen voices saying, " now I get what...said!" It's a beautiful thing, and I highly recommend this to any teacher!

I am using this book for an after school group ranging from 3rd to 5th grade. They are greatly enjoying this rendition of Hamlet. There are quotes from the original which is lovely and the comprehension level is fitting. I used this rendition to introduce my school kids to Shakespeare and compared it to The Lion king. Very helpful. I recommend a thousand times.

Used this book with a small class of just three middle school students. We took the first class to watch the BBC Animated Shakespeare version of the play. Then we read through the play and assigned the parts. Each student highlighted their parts and we used the Latitudes series of study guides to learn about background, setting, characters and Shakespeare. On their own, students further researched accents, costumes and props. They have had a blast with this series and will have no trouble approaching Shakespeare in high school.

The plays in this series are so great--funny, easy to follow, engaging! I'm leading a small homeschool co-op on "Shakespeare," and I wanted a simple version of a Shakespeare play that the kids could perform for their parents at the end (in my living room with no costumes & minimal memorization). Since only three families are involved in the co-op, I also needed something that would work with a range of kids' ages and only a small number of kids. I was so thrilled to find this series, and "Hamlet" is going to perfectly fit our needs!

My 3rd grade class performed Hamlet for their parents and another 3rd grade class(which performed A Midsummer Night's Dream). Our play culminated our unit study of the Renaissance era. It was a wonderful experience for the kids. Kids memorized their lines, although I didn't require it. They even practiced their scenes at recess or at each other's homes. We used no stage decorations, and minimal costumes and props. Even though Hamlet is a tragedy, for us it was more like a tragedy + comedy=tramedy!! Parents loved it. I will definitely do the play again with my new 3rd grade class next year. One bit of information-The play was supposed to be,"10 Minutes or so," in length, but we couldn't do it under 30 minutes. Enjoy!!
What a great way to combine a love of Shakespeare's original language and update it for today's kids! We used this in our homeschool co-op group, and it helped our kids discover Shakespeare, tragedy, sword-fighting, and drama! We are definitely using more of Brendan Kelso's books next year!
