The pardons, the vandalism, the pilfering. It really was more like Animal House than the White House. Months after I read this, the author was killed in the 9/11 attacks.

The pardons, the vandalism, the pilfering. She was on one of the ill-fated planes and still had the presence of mind to call the authorities to alert them. I always wonder about the many books she'd have written by now. This, though, is a fitting testament to her skill and passion. Sep 20, 2007 Dani marked it as to-read.

It was a powerful read because of Barbara's professional relationship with the Clintons as a lawyer charged by the US Goverment to aquire information on suspected misdeeds of Hillary.

For in this, her last book, she drags fact after fact into the light of day and bitterly, even sneeringly, rails against the Clintons, their characters and lifestyles, their liberal friends and radical causes, their moral failures and shady activities. She is clearly preaching to the choir, but what an indictment she brings-especially regarding the Clinton pardons of Marc Rich. to be published Sept 13, 2001 ! vanosman.

Since the end of the Cold War, Soviet aggression had been replaced by a number of particularly venomous threats, from Timothy McVeigh to Osama bin Laden. Barbara Olson (2003). I think that's going to be an issue: Whether or not voters are going to get more of the same in a Clinton candidacy or whether she really is something unique and has something to offer apart from her husband. Thinking, Unique, Husband. Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Olson turns her razor sharp vision on the Clintons' shocking excesses in their final days of office: the outrageous pardons to political cronies and friends, the looting of the White House, the executive orders that were sheer abuses of presidential power, the presidential library that is becoming a massive boondoogle of vanity more appropriate for a Third World dictator, and much more.

I was absolutely mesmerized by this book. Even the most ardent Clinton supporter cannot read this book and still elect her. A vote against Trump for Hilary is not a good excuse. Hilary is greedy, sneaky, and really not intelligent enough for the job. Already, she claims priapic Bill as her advisor. We are not voting for Bill.We are voting for her. If she can't do the job herself, why should she run. Her years in Washington prove that she has NO experience. Save for 2 or 3 health bills, most of her time is spend showboating and panhandling for money for her "Foundation. In her grandstanding, she shows no accomplisments and exceeding dishonesty. Look, any OTHER Democraticwoman, but Hilary for President. This is the message of the book. The 5 stars are bad stars. They are to be interpreted as a must read--to save this country. Hilary has no ideas to repeat the theme of the book

I found the book a bit trying at times due to some redundancy, but more enlightening than I ever expected. How the Clintons are walking around this nation being adulated by so many, and not in jail cells is beyond me. This is a must read for anyone who ever doubted that Bill and Hillary Clinton are not morally corrupt. Their almighty God is the dollar and their apostles are those who provide and venerate that dollar God. To the Clintons the dollar equates with power and that is all that they ever desired. Hillary will stop at nothing to gain that power and she would have all think that this is what is required to gain the greater good. Of course she fails to spell out just what that greater good is, nor does she even consider alternatives to be sought to acquire the social greater good. If more of her fawning admirers could see beyond the lies and self proclaimed martyr that Hillary is, they'd see a tried and true Marxist in my opinion.

This book is hard to read because of all the information. Barbara Olsen was a reporter at the White House and Lawyer during the Clinton era.The author wrote it before her death on the 911 plane that hit the Pentagon. It was buried under several books published at the same time about the Clinton's. Whether Democratic or Republican this book should be read to get all the details.

I had purchased this book two years ago, from a book store and before i had the chance to read it, my friend, from Europe decided to take
it home with her, with my permission. Because of the approaching presidential election, i thought it would be prudent of me to better acquaint
myself with the candidates, therefore i purchased another book, from my favorite, Amazon. I found some words and sentences, such as ....
" The C......s are a terminally unethical and vulgar couple and they have betrayed everyone who has ever believed in them..." quite interesting.

When I first received this book I was a little skeptical. Would this just be a hatchet job on our ex president? The cover and title seemed to indicate that it was going to be a very one-sided right wing slam blaming every thing wrong in the world on anti-Christ Bill. But what I found out was a book that was extremely fair. The author even seemed in some strange way enamored by President Clinton's charisma and his obvious political skills. She paid kudos to him for the way he managed the government during his tenure in office, praising him for keeping a robust economy and a fairly good job at handling foreign affairs. Ms. Olson was in no ways vindictive to the ex-chief.
What the author did do though was provide a synopsis of the dealings of Mr. Clinton during his last days in office. There was no specious charges brought out by this book. As a matter of fact all the allegations brought up by Ms. Olson are known and proven to have occurred. What the author has done is culminated many of the main factual news stories into a book showing the tawdry dealings of our Ex-President.

One of the best points of the book was the complete lack of hyperbolic arguments or vitriolic chatter from the author. It was obvious that none was needed since the ex-presidents actions speak loudly enough. However, she does quote many of the Clinton apologists near the end of the book. And it is very fascinating that once Clinton was out of office his staunchest supports began to spew forth such verbal tirades and denunciations against him and his amoral actions. (Perhaps it is these quotes from liberals that many of the negative reviewers have confused as the authors thoughts???)

Anyhow, I gave the book only 4 stars because I think it lacks depth in discussing the most pernicious action of the president in his last few days in office. That is the issuing of executive orders or legislation by presidential fiat if you will. While Ms. Olson does spend one chapter discussing these issues she only hits a few of the goodies that William Jefferson Clinton signed into law. For any conscientious American I suggest you search out all the EO's that were signed. They are easily available on the web. Once you have read them you to will be outraged at the abuse of this privilege.

I hope that all Americans have learned their lesson from the incorrigible megalomaniac we had in the White House.

Character does count not political party affiliation.

Incredible true story of the biggest theft in US Government history - and we can do nothing about these thieves! So glad Trump was elected to President of the United States; it would have been a terrible disaster if Hillary got in! This book really brings the horrible story of the awful Clinton legacy to light!

Perfect for the upcoming campaign. Yes, an advocacy piece albeit supported by extensive quotations and documentation. The results of this excellently researched compilation, published a few years ago, will not gladden the hearts of the former Secy of State or her supporters. If Secretary Clinton decides to run for President, I suspect the book will be re-published and likely outsell Mrs. Clinton's heavily promoted bio, the sales of which, are mediocre when considering the promotions and press support promulgated on its behalf.
