This is a great textbook for learning some Tajiki. Though the textbook is more like a textbook + workbook in one. That is, there are many exercises dispersed through-out the lessons. There are Dialogues, texts for reading, listening/speaking/watching exercises and vocabularies for every lessons. The lessons are not structured like what one might consider the 'usual' language textbook, like Teach Yourself or Colloquial (if you consider those your 'normal' language textbook). The dialogues and reading passages are usually used as exercises having you figure out words that are blank and the like. The grammar sections are short, but very well written and easy to understand. There are usually more then one grammar section per chapter. The vocabulary is displayed at the end of each chapter as a 'mini-glossary.' The audio-visual/multimedia disc that comes with the textbook is very helpful providing the audio and videos for the lessons in the textbook, and it also provides exercises the help you pronounce and remember the vocabulary. Some examples of exercises for chapter two on the disc are: matching, hang-man, fill-in-the-blank and other exercises.

Overall I think that this is a great set of textbooks/cds for Tajiki. The only draw-back I can think of is that there are no answers for the exercises, but most exercises I've looked at thus far seem easy enough that they really don't need any answers, though it would help I suppose.

A very good source! I highly recommend this for anyone who need multiple resources to learn: written, audio, visual, matching/games exercises. A great way to learn the language as well as the culture. Check it out if your want to learn this pretty language. If you speak some Farsi or Dari, and can read the Cyrillic alphabet, you will have an advantage learning it quicker!
