I'm an avid student of all theosophy. After much of my life spent in a Christian household, and rebelling against that, then subsequently exploring ALL beliefs and practices, I decided it's time to return to the place I'm most familiar.

I have many bibles. Even the one from 5th grade. My 1st one.

Why did I buy this one then? My efforts on re-experiencing this book needed to be from a more positive perspective. This is the only one that made that promise.

Did it deliver?
Well, Mr. Peale is fabulous. He seems like he might have been such a pleasure to speak to, he seemed to have worldly expression of the sentiment of the meanings. I REALLY appreciate that. Originally, I thought he'd 're-written' it to afford this perspective. Not exactly true.

The bible is the same KJV it seems to me, but he's inserted on many pages wonderful take aways from major points. These are really why I would have bought this at a store. Those take aways are the guidance I'd always wanted growing up, but sadly never had.

He also has an introduction section: 'Let the bible help you' and '12 steps'. I like his perspective and these sections are his genuine effort to help others find the help they are looking for in a book as widely used and recognized as this.

He also includes a section of reference for needs: An index of concerns. IE: Finding Courage, Finding Strength, Forgiveness... Really lovely quick reference guide for a moment of need.

I just added my book tabs today and I'm ready to continue my re-exploration of a book that I'm finding less fear in the experience of and more compassion and grace.

Highly recommend this version. While the bible is the same, his commentary and inserts are priceless.
